I am still recovering from the shock of seeing a mail message announcing a new follower on twitter @pastiesandcream. As the Pasty faithfull will know I am far from a marathon tweeter but it is moments like this that illuminate the value of the Twitting world
Pasties And Cream
Only courteous to take a look at the site – Pasties & Cream and I’m please I did – recent posts include this gem about wild garlic in the hedgerows sharing the knowledge gathered from a gourmet wild food weekend with Fat Hen.
Wild Garlic
I’ve been looking out for wild garlic ever since Hugh Fearnly Whernley Twittingstaller chucked a fistful of them on top of a slab of cheese to make a scrumptious sandwich.
Being armed with the image and description (three cornered leek) it should be easy to safely go a foraging for wild garlic.
Apparently wild garlic is considered a “problem species” in some parts of Cornwall so there should be few objections if sensible harvested.
Looking forward to reading more “freshly pressed words from west cornwall”
