Malaga Places To Go | Malaga Bus Station

Following the roaring success of Top 5 places to ‘pay a visit’ in Funchal we are now delighted to share the latest travel tales of toilet exploration on the Costal Del Sol starting with Malaga

Costa Del Sol > Top places to visit Malaga

Malaga Bus Sation

Adjacent to the splendid renfe train station in Malaga is the Estation De L’Autobus – the hub for Andalucian travellers.  The railway offers fast clean affordable travel to major spanish cities however it fails to serve Granada thus the comfort break on the service that runs from Marbella along the coast to Malaga and onward to Granada.

Fortunately the urge to go was weak – we joined the bus at Fuengirola after enjoying the floorshow of Senor & Senorita Nutter with their special display of song and dance.  The next stage might not include any stops so the prospect of  needing to go during three hours of unknown road surfaces and a full coach hablo no servicios meant draining off at the very least before continuing the journey.

Malaga Bus station is undergoing major redevelopment and is a busy place with little regard for non spanish speakers so if your in a hurry enter the public area from the bus stop areas and head right.  Keep going – past the shops and stalls, through the open cafeteria area and eventually you’ll find adequate facilities for your needs.

Malaga Bus Station Security

An imposing sight witnessed during the stop off was a security guard who travelled around the bus station on a Segway.  He really had the segway under control – racing up to groups and queues whilst continuing to enjoy a chain of cigarettes – it appear the EU ban on public smoking is having difficulty being embraced by our spanish eurochums.

Jungle Noises – Malaga Bus Station PA system

I’m hoping that other travellers will have heard the jungle animal noises played through the pa system at malaga bus station and will leave comments to allay my fears of “hearing strange things”

I’m absolutely certain that every few minutes a quick burst of a bird squarking and other tropical animal sounds was emmitted from the public adress speakers around the bus station.

Malaga bus statition serves Andalucia well but the difficulty in buying advanced tickets and limited timetables do make hiring a car a consideration.  Car hire in Spain is readily available from local car rental firms as well as international car hire companies.

Malaga is often overlooked by visitors to Costa Del Sol as they head off the the beach resortrs to the west however with a little investigation there some great things to do and attractions to visit in Malaga
