The White Stuff - Just Say NO to Salt
Clearly I’m partial to the odd pasty now and then - indeed stick a stonkin great big pasty in my hand and I’m a very happy muncher - grinning from ear to ear.
Imagine my alarm when a colleague of mine pointed to this article about salt in food which identifies pies and pasties as major culprits - sodium chloride evil pushers that raises blood pressure. here’s the evidence from Action On Salt
What’s a Muncher to do? Well some of the best advice I no follow is moderation in all things so in my opinion limiting the quantity of pasties I munch is well, quite frankly unfeasible.
Solution - make my own - that way I can hold the salt in both pastry and filling. I caught a link on TopBanana to this video http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-make-a-cornish-pasty which shows the process of pasty production being straightforward but to get the required mushy texture for the filling I guess I’ll need a blender or food processor.
Crikey I’b better beware - with this renewed interest in diet and health I could soon be on these cucumber smoothies
