The Pasty Shop – Amazing Cornish Pasties

Share

Pasty Heaven at Pasty Shop, Hatt, Saltash

Happy chappie - wonderful life, wonderful pastyA wonderful array of fillings were on offer in either shortcrust or flakey and the chap serving gleefully boasted that they be ALL available my luvver – either ready heated or cold.

First visit here so the choice had to be a straightforward Cornish Pasty. But this was no ordinary Pasty – this was a Bakers Hatt Pasty Shop Pasty!

Breaking the delectable flakey pastry with an understated hand crimped crust revealed a devine silky-smooth filling with slow cooked skirt of beef in claret with samphire & parsley, succulent slivers of swede ingeniously paired with a rich and unctuous gratin of turnip and sage – united during a simmering of at leat 9 hours.

I munched away – happy as the pig in doo dahh and entered a trance of pasty-bliss-tasticity.

This was a truly memorable pasty.

They probably add a surcharge of £1 to cross the bridge into Devon and don’t guarantee temperature on arrival – its not blooming Pizza Hut y’know

The picture on your blog’s header is the biggest pasty I have ever seen.

:O

There are plenty of “Pasty”s in Malaysia too.

The small ones have curry potato filling.

While the larger knuckle sized ones are actually odd looking chicken or beef pies.

Each and every Cornish Pasty which we bake has been lovingly created for you by hand. The hand layering process of the diced ingredients is true to the roots of the Cornish Pasty, this is something which we are very proud of! Machine made pasties are just not the same and unfortunately those who have not ventured to the South West of the UK have little or no knowledge of what a real Cornish Pasty looks like…rest assured a Proper Pasty is hand crimped and hand filled.
