Thanks for posting these tips on keeping fresh flowers “fresh”. It’s almost valentines day, and I certainly plan on getting my wife some flowers. Having them stay nice longer is a plus for me, because fresh flowers are soooo expensive. The longer they last, the better. Thanks again.

My mother starts buying flowers a lot at this time of the year but they never seem to last very long. I don’t think she’s ever researched how to make them last a little longer so thanks a lot for posting this, I’ll wow her with my knowledge next time she brings some home!

i love flowers and love taking care of them and personaly to maintain my flowers live as long as possible, When i first put the flowers into a vase
1 i cut the steams at a 45 angle
2 i use warm warter
3 i add a little household bleach – plain
4 i make sure they are not in direct sunlight /draughs .
and that is it .

Very timely for this time of year where flowers tend to “die” because of heat. At least I know now how to take care of fresh flowers even for just a while.

I know one effective way is to put certain suger in water where flowers in then they can keep longer time.

I just moved to a new house and you have inspired me to get some pink flowers for the garden.. thanks for the tips and I hope to be able to take good care of them with those tips. I love pink and it would be great to be able to decorate my garden with lots of pink flowers!

Any tips on keeping plants alive while parents are on vacation? I don´t want to be popping over there very 3 days to water them. It´s summer too so I think they´re going to die. Any advice would be really apprecaited or even if anyone knows where I can find out about this (reliable source).

I need those information you posted. I have a small garden in my house where I plant ornamental. I’m used of seeing flowers planted in the soil and not in vases. Even inside my house I have ornamental plants to add life in my little room. But certainly with the basic tips you provided about preserving fresh cut flowers, I will try my very best to start buying fresh cuts for my living room. I love green but it would be more exciting if I add some colors, right?
