My dad was always into Land Rovers as he loved off roading and was needed where we lived. He had the classic old short wheel bases, usually diesel and with the single cab and canvas framed back. It was the first thing I learned to drive in and they could tackle anything from snowed in lanes to rivers. These vehicles are indispensable in the country, where they can also help neighbours who get stuck, pull fallen trees off the road and be a lifeline in snow or floods. The Government hasn't got a clue, the simple way would be to look at where people live. If you live in a city, pay the tax, if you live in the country, pay a lower level - are we living in a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_Rover_Freelander" rel="nofollow">freelander</a>?. This Tata business I'm wary of though, hope the quality level doesn't go down. This might actually increase the value of older vehicles as they will always be sought after. This guts me. I absolutely love it, the guy that had it before me had totally worshipped it and looked after it to the hilt and beyond.
