Fat Flyer: Air France is Pro Lard at a Price
Fly Air France – Free Flights for Fat Flyers
If a picture paints a thousand words I think I’ll start with this non photoshoped image.

At the time of writing I got the wrong end of the stick but in true web 4.Zero fashion I chose to continue with the post albeit factually dubious in parts. If nothing else it allows generous use of derogatory fat phrases so as the git in the street says “its all good”.
Air France retaliated this week to the accusation that it is to make “corpulent” (FAT) passengers (PIGGIES) pay for a second seat, following recent articles in both the French and UK press.
This is well timed, at a time when airlines such as Air France are mopping up shorthaul leftovers whose flights to Paris etc have been affected by the BA strike – big blubberers spilling over into second seats.
Now I wouldn’t want to be mistaken for a Fat Lardy activist but there appears to be double standards here – double as in seating requirements for the oversized.
In a confusing statement Air France have in one breath defended their pro-lard sympathies saying they have offered Big Boys and Girthy Girls a chance to buy a second seat since 2005 yet somehow think this is different to the recent announcement that Whoppers will have to pay for a second seat.
Air France says that it has
“no intention of making corpulent passengers pay for a second seat”.
Which is clearly different to the denial:
Fatties “will get a 25% discount on second seats where required.”
Going on to explain that now where economy class was not full a refund would be offered on the second seat.
Will Size Matter?
How though will the average outsized Joe know if the flight was officially not full and therefore entitled to a refund on the second seat. What if the flight had a drove of pigs (anyone know the collective noun for pigs – do share) in cattle class but only afew empty seats – would size matter in deciding who gets stuffed
Some supporting equality for Fat Uns argue that no matter how big you are there is no discrimination when booking car hire in France tariffs are per vehicle regardless of weight.
There is of course no comparison – fat lardies in a hire car are most likely to be alone and not causing space shortage for other fee paying passengers.
In Flight Safety
The other important point here is safety. We have all seen harsh dismissal of passengers in high spitits who are told they will not fly “because of the safety to other passengers”. The reasons stated are that they would be a possible obsticl in the event of an emergency. I would ask that a similar view be applied to Roly Poly and his Outsized chums.
