Yes, realist, Banksy does indeed provoke our emotions, stimulate thought, prompt discussion and cause us to reflect upon the human context like it or not – all positive attributes of art. I regret the format of the exhibit in Bristol seems to have generated such a distraction for so many from the work it offered to present. What a sad situation when the themes, focus and potential impact of the work is upstaged by the staging!

Too bad *crap was the best you could come up with. Banksy is a realist. Everything he does provokes some sort of emotion from us and then we have to laugh a little inside because he’s right, and we all know it. Everything we hate to admit, or are too afraid to show, he illuminates, and signs, BANKSY.

Banksy is a bit like marmite I have found, you either love him or hate him. I went to an exibition in Barcelona a couple of months ago…Cant remember what the artist was called now but i just found it ridiculous but there were people there who truely loved him.

I realise art can be a strongly contraversial subject, and certain art which many love, i happen not to like and dont understand the hype. The difference between being critical and being narrow-minded Pasty Muncher is you. Banksy’s work appeals to me as the very medium, even without the content sparks controversy and questioning. His images and phrases are obviously very well thought-out and i believe are extremely intelligent. I’m glad the days are gone where everybody has to be convservative and proper, and think it is brilliant that Banksy has managed to achieve such fame. Merely calling him crap shows you are in no position to comment on art. I suggest you leave the banksy-style exhibitions alone and sit at home staring at a Lowry on your computer instead.

I can’t believe you actually thought that “Banksy Vs Bristol Museum” is misleading in saying it would lead us to think Banksy broke into the museum. The real irony here is you missed this irony to a point that you felt you’d expose your narrow minded view even further.

Thank you for posting a link to that first video; I’ve never seen Banksy’s work before. I’ve only heard a few of my friends throw the name around, so I thought I’d look it up. I would have loved to have seen those animatronics in person!
